About I was born in Florianopolis in 1983. Photography came late in my life. First came an interest for observation. I started studying psychology at 15, writing and publishing poems at 16 and playing many sports till college. At 18 I got accepted into Journalism at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina where I had my first contact with photography. From there I learned about a scholarship program to study in the US which I applied for and won. Then I went to study Advertising Photography at Rochester Institute of Technology, north of NY state. College took 4 years and during my summer breaks I took internships with great photographers at various places (São Paulo, Seatle and Woodstock, this last one was a special one where I learned closely from Douglas Menuez). Graduated in 2007, I instantly moved to New York, where I began my career as a professional photographer. I had very early opportunities and awards that helped jump a few career steps. In 2009 I moved back to Brazil, to São Paulo, where I currently reside. In 2014 I was invited to be the Diretor of Photography for an independente film called The Fates, where I shot it in 13 days with 3 cameras going at the same time. From this point I also started my second career as a DP. And lastly, I’m doing postgraduate study in Screenwriting to further improve my abilities as a photographer/cinematographer. I’m super easy going and hardworking. I won’t stop learning and working until it reaches a personal level of satisfaction and of the clients that I work for.
